This may affect you ability to be married, if there are special legal requirements to fulfil before you may be married you will have to contact the Embassy of the country you wish to visit.

You can choose where you will be married but usually most hotels have locations in the grounds or a gazebo or a special spot on the Beach. Our wedding consultants will use their experience and knowledge to help with confirming the location that is best for you (Local advise is often the best and the hotels have great experience in making the perfect choice).

The duration of residency before a wedding can take place is usually 2- 5 days. This can vary and will be confirmed at the time of enquiry. (see our legal requirements page)

The wedding day will be set before you leave the uk it is usually a weekday as weddings are not usually permissible on a Saturday/Sunday/or public holiday. We will of course do everything possible to confirm the date and time of your choice.

You can have copies of your original certificate by taking it to your solicitor who will certify copies for you, we recommend you do this and place a copy with your solicitor for safe keeping, we also recommend you check the details before you leave resort.

In most cases the weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title depends on where the wedding is taking place, for example in the Caribbean it will be a Minister or Registrar.

Our advice is to pack your wedding outfits in a hard suitcase or something sturdy enough to protect your clothes, as most will be placed in the hold of an aircraft, in some cases depending on the airline and the seats booked you may be able to hang in a wardrobe section on the aircraft, however remember you will then be carrying your wedding outfits the whole journey

Most hotels will provide a hairdressing and beauty service or be able to arrange one in a local resort (it is advisable to pre book these services as soon as you arrive at you chosen destination)

We advise you wait until you are in resort to choose the colour of the flowers as these will vary from season to season and could be different from the UK . You may also be able to arrange locally a more detailed arrangement in required, there may be charges for this locally.

Yes you can, let us know how many guests are attending as we may need to arrange additional items for you such as buttonholes, a larger cake or extra wine and so on. If you are staying in an all-inclusive resort hotel and your guests are staying at a different hotel we will need to arrange day passes either purchased in the UK or arrange for them to be purchased locally. We will be happy to arrange your parties travel and special arrangements are available for groups of 10 or more.

The typical wedding cake will be sponge with icing, it is possible to make requests and we will do everything possible to accommodate them.

Yes you can, generally your photographs and video will be taken by a local photographer, whose equipment and facilities can sometimes be limited, therefore the standard may not always be equivalent to that in the UK . In some cases the wedding video will need to be converted to play in the UK . You should always check your photos and videos before leaving your resort.

The time to choose the honeymoon is now. Various options are available subject to destination and available budget please talk to one of our team who will discuss all the options available and advise on deciding the perfect honeymoon destination for you. Two centre holidays are popular, this allows you to be married with family and friends in one resort and then head to another location for your honeymoon alone.

If you decide to book, we do not charge for debit cards or cheques but the bank charge's us 2% on all transactions.

You will need to speak to the Parish Priest of the church where you want to marry to help organise the event. It is quite usual also for you to be invited to take part in a marriage preparation programme. The form of this will vary but a pre-marriage course would typically involve a day to discuss and participate with other couples and explore issues of communication, conflict management and commitment. You will also need to let the local registrar know of your impending wedding.

| Information on Catholic weddings |
The first port of call is to the parish priest/minister of religion of your own church in the parish where you reside. This is required by both the Church and the State. This requirement is directly linked to the need to ascertain your freedom to marry. Then there is the documentation you will need to have. The priest of your parish will guide you through the next steps. As general rule it is as well to give the parish priest at least six months prior notice of the date you plan to marry.

Once again, the first step is to contact your own parish priest who will need to obtain a dispensation from the Bishop to permit you to marry in a church/country other than your own. You will also need to obtain a licence from the Registrar. The priest in the church where you wish to marry will require certain documentation - proof of freedom to marry, a baptismal certificate, certificate of confirmation and, in some countries, a certificate to say that you have both followed some form of marriage preparation. There will be civil requirements also, e.g. a condition of residency, that is time spent in the country of choice prior to the date of the wedding (on a separate visit at least one moth ahead of the wedding date).

The Catholic partner in the marriage would be asked to make a declaration which focuses on the unity of partnership which invites the Catholic partner to do all they can within that unity to bring up the children as Catholic. No such demand is made of the partner who is not Catholic.

If your partner is a Catholic, it is possible but if your partner is not a Catholic, it is not possible because the Church recognises marriages of those other than Catholics made in registry offices.
